MicrobiomeCanada.ca has been rebuilt

MicrobiomeCanada.ca has been rebuilt from the ground up. The original site went live in 2016 on Drupal 7, which has since reached the end of its supported life. The new version keeps everything that was there (the researcher directory, the news, and every existing web address) and drops the parts that needed constant upkeep. The rebuild was AI-assisted.

What’s new

• A faster directory. Filters now update instantly, combine freely, and work on a phone. To share a filtered view, copy the link.
• A page for each researcher, with their position, research interests and contact details. Click any row in the directory to open one.

What’s changed for researchers

There are no more accounts or passwords. To join, fill in the one-page registration form. The Microbiome Canada team reviews each submission before it appears. To update or remove your entry, email us at microbiomecanada@gmail.com.

Contact details that used to be visible only to logged-in members now appear on each researcher’s page. Those pages are not listed by search engines, and email addresses are encoded to deter automated harvesters. If you would rather yours were not shown, let us know.

Old links and bookmarks, including filtered directory searches, should still work. If you find one that doesn’t, or anything else that looks wrong, please get in touch.
